Aaron's Story

When Aaron was only 3 weeks he was separated his mother. I don't know anything about how that happened, but he ended up with a local rescue organization, and I ended up fostering him. He was a lot of work because he had to be bottle-fed every few hours, but he was well worth it. Here are some pictures of him when I first brought him home. (Click on the thumbnails for larger images.)

Here are few more pictures of Aaron when he was between 5 and 6 weeks old. He finally caught his tail! (Click on the thumbnails for larger images.)

I kept Aaron until he was 8 weeks old when I returned him to the shelter so he could be put for adoption. With the kennel manager on leave, the veterinary staff had fallen way behind on the spaying and neutering, so poor Aaron stayed in a crate in the dog-holding room for two weeks until he finally got snipped. Then he got sick and was sent home with me for 2 weeks until he recovered. Here are a few pictures I took during that time. (Click on the thumbnails for larger images.)

When I returned Aaron to the shelter for the second time, he was finally put up for adoption. The following weekend, he was adopted. Mission Accomplished!

I still miss him.

I used to say I think he's part mongrel. Laughing

He's mostly chow and I'm sure he's part shepherd. I don't know what else he might be. Your guess is as good as mine.
