We rescued Nosey some six months ago. He was an adolescent red Rex with white paws and belly. He was a very good looking bunny. From the first day he was very affectionate, very easy to handle and love to be held. He was even more curious about what was goig on than most rabbits, hence his name.

He was thin and at first put on weight and was looking pretty good. Then in a matter of week he started to loose weight despite eating as much if not more than his mates. He was also drinking excessive amount of water. On the morning of his death I found him laying on his side listless. We got him to the vet and after an exam and xrays we were told the bad news. Nosey had a massive tumor growing between his heart and diaphargm. The vet said he believed the tumor had formed soon after birth. Due to the size of the tumor and Nosey's poor condition surgery was not an option. He had to be put down.

I have had to say good bye to our pets before and while each one is painful this was horrible to me. Nosey was my special bunny and now he was going away. One the bus ride back home my thought were of gratitude that we had been blessed with this rabbit, even for a short time.

While holding the box with Nosey in it I went out back to bury him and saw that one of our latest group of kits was dead.

Little Dot was a Hotot cross, with lovely black rings around her eyes and one black dot on her back. What a black day that was. We buried both in the same box, next to the grave of Dot's grandmother. They were in good company.

I and family are grateful for every bunny that comes are way. And when trajic events such as this one occur it is comforting to have all the other bunnies there. We shall have them in our hearts forever.

I'm so sorry Shelley! I know what it's like to have a bunny for only a short time. When I had my bunny, he only lasted for 2 weeks before he died. I'm glad that you enjoyed him for the little time you had him.
