Well why do many people not like snakes??
I'll ask my friends.

But one of my friends say that they're long and they just don't like them.

Some are scared of snakes

But I don't get how people say they are slimy. I just don't understand.

Well, lots of people think that they are slimey, and lots of people don't want to be bitten by one, whether its poisonus or not.
