Okay. I know I said this before though I might have not said it here. I HATE when I go to petstores and see those poor little bettas in cups and with dirty water and not taken care of properly. And I even see lots of DEAD BETTAS!!!!! I went to one store and they had no dead bettas but almost all of the bettas had mold on them and some of the bettas had mold fully covering them. There was lots of food at the bottem of the cup and it was hard to see through.

OMG!!!!!!! Wal mart has bettas in BIGGER cups and they have cleaner cups. I don't like the bettas in cups but at least in walmart they had bigger cups and were taking care of them well.

Big Als takes care of their bettas well but the containers are too small

Pet Centre had 2 cups each that had dead bettas. The other bettas had water just good enough to see the color of the fish.
Before when I went to this store I saw 2 male bettas in each cup. They were not in good shape.

I AM SO MAD AT THE STORES THAT DON'T TAKE CARE OF THERE BETTAS GOOD.

True. I got to except that they have to be in small cups becuase they cannot be put togeather. But not having the fish taken care of and having dead and half rotted living fish is too far. I only have a 5 gallon tank for a hospital tank. They have female bettas in small cups which is not right becuase female bettas can be put togeather.

Too bad I can't make a diffrence on all thoese lives. Rolling Eyes

Yeah betta cups are bad but one petstore I went to had them in like little plastic air bubbles that had water in them. I don't have as much a problem with them being in cups if their taken care of.. Think about it, male bettas don't get along and they can't have a single tank for each fish, that would be too much. And they could devide the tanks so more bettas could be in there but they have such fighting wills they could find a way to get at each other.

I've seen this shelf of jars hanging and it turns around. It's dangerous though. And there is this glass ledge that they put bettas and it's very dangerous because it has no sides and someone can break the glass and knock it over and everytime someone from staff comes out of this door becide it the fish ledge shakes alot.

Sorry it took me so long to reply.
I think the bettas were shipped in them.. But the petstore I went to had the bettas in little plastic air bubbles.. I don't know how to explain them.. But they did have water in them and they were about 1 inch by 1 inch and they were sealed. Like a sandwhich baggie only WAY smaller. And they did have some air in them. But no way to get fresh air in there, or food.

Okay. I think I can imagine what your talking about. Like a small plastic bag with water and are fully sealed or mostly sealed as in thoses bags you get in the store with beans that you open by cutting it???

THat does not sound good at all. I've seen stores that take care of bettas well too. But the majority of the cases are that bettas arn't taken care of properly.

... My mind is overpowering me to get more bettas but certainly I am getting the bettas from a person who takes care of then properly.
A platinum colored betta. YAY!!!!!!

But there is one store...(the one that I decribed before)... they do take care of their bettas great and remove the leftover food but they are left in a place where the jars can fall off and the bettas die or the bettas can really easily jump out.

one store I went to had a wall display where they take great care of the bettas but they are in small containers. At least they are taken care of better then most stores.

I went to this store that is not a chain but they're bettas are not taken care of properly and one day I went to this store and they got new arrivals of repiles. (Okay I know this a bit off topic about bettas) and from one of my friends who sells reptiles who knows much and also rescues reptiles told me that (we are friends) the people work there they put a wrong substance in the water to de stress the reptiles and most of them died. She said she tried to save them but only one survived. The chemical is a very deadly poison to reptiles. Don't tell the people on this website what I said. But you can complain (say you went there or one of your friends (not me) said they don't take care of their pets well.

I had to tell them that crabs moult!!!!! because she threw out all the crabs who moulted!!!! (don't say that part)

oh... and I found out on their new website that they moved to a new location. So I don't know how it is now. But probably the same.

So I went to a fish store today and so they had bettas. But they did not put the bettas in cups. All the female bettas were in one tank and ALL THE MALE BETTAS EACH had a 10 gallon tank to themselves.

i got sent this site as a link from a customer. I would like to know how i don't take care of my bettas?

i buy bettas from walmart's suppliers and their betta cups are not bigger. that is false.

and what is it that i gave my reptiles? chemicals? really what type. this is false.

it is illegal to make false accustations and i do not appreciate being lied about, especially when i do take care of my animals and i am always passionate about animal welfare. If you have problems then speak to me but do not use the internet to slannder someone and someones business.
